This Natural Single Origin Yirgacheffe continues to be one of the most popular single-origin coffees that we offer. This coffee is sourced from family-owned farms organized around the Kokanna coffee mill located in the Gedeb District, Ethiopia. The homeland of coffee, Ethiopia has a unique coffee producing system in which most of the coffee is grown organically (although not certified). Small coffee farmers deliver ripe cherries to the Kokanna mill where the cherries are sorted and immediately placed on raised beds and dried over a period of 15 to 20 days. This natural processing allows the beans to retain a high sugar content and allows the maturation of various esters and fruit flavors that are signature of Ethiopian coffees.
