Justin Modica has been crafting custom knives for five years — and what a journey it’s been. With every knife, he continues to refine his skill and evolve his artistry. Though he’s been creating art his entire life, knife making helped him discover a unique and consistent style that truly speaks for itself.

 

 

Handcrafted in Arizona by Justin Modica

Each Modica knife is made by hand using materials sourced right here in Arizona — including Saguaro, Cholla, Prickly Pear, and Ironwood — which Justin infuses with resin to create striking, one-of-a-kind designs. He also incorporates natural elements like elk and mule deer antlers, giving each piece an authentic, desert-inspired character.

 

 

The blades are hand-forged from high-carbon steels such as 1080, 1095, CRV80, and 5160. While high-carbon steel can rust, Justin values its raw, functional beauty and the fascinating fact that it can even create sparks when struck with a rock — ideal for fire starting.

 

 

Every Modica knife is made with love in Justin’s backyard workshop, alongside his wife and baby girl. His dream has always been to create functional works of art that people can cherish for generations.
