Little Italy of Scottsdale
Once upon a time (in 2019), two New Yorkers from Italian families moved to Scottsdale, Arizona with their three daughters. They loved their new home and made lots of new friends. It was happily ever after except for one thing—they missed Arthur Avenue, that storied street in the Bronx famous for its many Italian restaurants and specialty shops.
Then, their good friend Giovanni Paolo came to visit from New York and they all missed Arthur Avenue even more when they were together. Almost ten years ago, the Gioffres met Giovanni walking along Arthur Avenue on their way to their favorite Italian restaurant. They recognized him from a “Mama’s Boys,” a TV show about Italian men who still lived with their mothers that was on The Learning Chanel at the time. In the show, Giovanni would always talk about his favorite Italian delicacies and of starting a cannoli eating contest. They became fast friends.
With Michele, Brandon and Giovanni in Scottsdale together, missing their favorite New York Italian food from Arthur Avenue, the creation of Little Italy of Scottsdale now seems like it was inevitable. They decided to start with three items… each of them got to pick one favorite. Michele chose her childhood favorite, Zeppole, Brandon had to have his fresh Mozzarella, and Giovanni, love for the Cannoli's, started right away. Little Italy of Scottsdale was born, and Giovanni is staying to bring thre true taste of Arthur Avenue and NY Italian specialties to AZ.
Now, we are up and running, serving our fresh Italian specialities at Uptown Farmers Market located at 5757 N Central avenue, Phoenix, AZ and catering for special events in Scottsdale and the surrounding areas. We are three New Yorker Italians, happily sharing our love of Italian fare with the people of Scottsdale and beyond.
