We are a food-based farmers market and gathering place dedicated to inspiring and educating home cooks through Arizona local produce, handmade foods and handcrafted goods.
At Uptown you can purchase fruits and vegetables from your favorite farmer and have them chopped, sliced and diced onsite. We’ve partnered with the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), a national non-profit group that sends high school students to culinary schools through scholarship. At Uptown, these C-CAP student chefs gain real knife skills experience, a key requirement for any restaurant position. Veggie Valet is available every Saturday year-round. The service is free and donations welcome.
Indoor Summer Market
Uptown Farmers Market moves indoors for the hot summer months of June – September and 100+ vendors all summer long
Indoor Dairy Section
We have an indoor fridge and freezer so dairy products are always proper temp.
We are one of a few markets in the nation to use the token system.
Tokens and How they work: A market customer comes to our information station and runs their credit card in our machine for a specified amount. These black tokens come in $10 increments and can be used just like cash to purchase products from any vendor at our market.
SNAP/EBT: Customers may swipe their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) at the information booth. They will then receive $1 and $5 tokens and may begin shopping the market! Double Up Food Bucks are now available at Uptown. Stop by the info booth, swipe your EBT card, and receive up to $10 in Double Up Food Bucks! (to use on fruits, vegetables, herbs and food-producing plants). Visit the Double Up Food Bucks website for more information.
WIC/FMNP: Take your WIC checks straight to any of these certified vendors:
- Abby Lee Farms
- Blue Sky Farms
- Community Exchange Table
- Farm Club
- TJ Farms
- Tiger Mountain Foundation
We are close to public transportation — we are just 2 blocks north of the Central/Camelback stop for light rail and bus
Uptown Gives Back
Donations: Waste Not- Vendors donate extra food to the homeless
Back To School: Bring any of your extra school items to our market! All of your donations will go to Empower College Prep! This school operates right here on the North Phoenix Baptist Church campus and is a values-based, A-Rated charter school whose mission is to empower children from the low-income, high-crime neighborhoods to discover and fulfill their purpose.
Chef Demo Series: We partner with local chefs to educate the community on cooking healthy and local food by having weekly demos at the market.
Vendor Education: Weekly classes led by vendors from our very own market, we bring you an opportunity to learn more about your market groceries! This is a great way to learn more about where you products come from, who makes them and how!
North Phoenix Baptist Church
The market wouldn’t be possible without the beautiful grounds and continuous support of the North Phoenix Baptist Church.
Close to Public Transportation
You can get to the market by car, bus, light rail, and many can just walk.
